About Sonos
The Most Familiar Name in Audio
Professionally Installed.
Sonos made multiroom streaming simple. Most people know the speakers on the shelf. Fewer know the installed side of the line.
Its range extends to architectural speakers developed with Sonance, rack-mounted amplifiers, and streaming components that bring existing audio systems into the Sonos ecosystem. These products make it possible to build a Sonos experience into the home itself, with audio that fits the space and works as one connected system.
At Definitive Electronics, we design and integrate Sonos systems around the home and the people who live in it. We handle speaker placement, prewire coordination, amplification, and room tuning to ensure the system performs as well as it fits the space.
Discreet Installation

Proprietary Trueplay™ tuning technology adapts the sound to your unique surroundings for a listening experience that’s nothing short of luxurious.
Smart Integration
Part of the Whole Home
Works with premium home automation platforms like Control4, Crestron, Savant, Lutron, and Josh.ai, so music conveniently lives on the same apps.
Sonos Architectural Speakers
Sonos That Disappears
Into the Architecture.
In-Ceiling Speakers by Sonos and Sonance
Available in 6-inch and 8-inch models, these speakers deliver Sonos audio with a discreet, built-in design. The 8-inch model reaches down to 29 Hz with DSP and requires just 5.32 inches of mounting depth. Round and square grilles are available, both paintable to match the ceiling.
In-Wall Speakers by Sonos and Sonance
These in-wall speakers use the same 6.5-inch woofer and 1-inch tweeter as the 6-inch in-ceiling model. A magnetic, paintable grille keeps the installation clean and unobtrusive, making them a good option for audio near the TV without adding a visible soundbar.
Sonos Amp
Sonos Amp delivers 125 watts per channel and can power up to three pairs of Sonos Architectural speakers. HDMI connectivity makes it suitable for TV audio as well as music, while its compact, rack-mountable design works well in dedicated equipment spaces.
Sonos Amp Multi
Designed for professional installations, Sonos Amp Multi provides eight channels of amplification at 125 watts per channel, supporting up to four zones. Its fanless 2U chassis is suited to equipment racks, and ProTune gives installers a 10-band parametric EQ on every channel for more precise system tuning.

Sonos Home Entertainment Experience
Ultimate Immersive Set With Arc Ultra.
Bring every scene and song to life with next-level surround sound, ultra-precise Dolby Atmos spatial audio, and bass you can feel.
Sonos brings a more immersive experience to home theater, with Dolby Atmos support, clear dialogue, and room-filling sound. The Arc Ultra and Era 300 create a more enveloping soundstage, while the Sub 4 adds depth to movie soundtracks, music, and effects.
Definitive Electronics designs each system around the room, taking care of placement, setup, and tuning to get the best performance from the equipment. Sonos also makes it easy to switch between TV audio and music, podcasts, radio, and audiobooks, with streaming over Wi-Fi and control through the Sonos app or compatible smart home systems.
Outdoor Audio for Florida Homes
From Great Room to Pool Deck.
One Sound System.
In Florida, the lanai and pool deck are extensions of the home. The music should be, too.
Sonos and Sonance outdoor speakers are built to handle the elements, with an IP66 rating and testing to Mil-Spec 810 standards for conditions including humidity, salt spray, temperature changes, and UV exposure. They also integrate with the rest of the Sonos system, so you can play your favorite music outside, group the outdoor zone with rooms inside, and manage everything from the same app.
Covered Lanai
Zero Clutter
In-ceiling speakers under the roofline for even, conversational sound where family and guests spends the most time.
Pool Deck and Patio
Florida Weather-Approved
Outdoor speakers mounted under the eaves and aimed at the seating and pool, not the neighbors.
Outdoor Kitchen
Keeping the Chef Happy
An independent audio zone with its own volume, so the game can play in the kitchen while different music plays by the pool.

The Definitive Difference
Why Choose Definitive Electronics for Professional Sonos Installation?
Sonos makes excellent wireless speakers that homeowners can purchase and set up themselves. But installing a few speakers is very different from designing a reliable, whole-home audio system that works seamlessly with your TVs, home network, outdoor entertainment areas, and smart home technology.
As a certified Sonos dealer and installer, Definitive Electronics brings more than 25 years of home technology experience and HTA Estate-Level Certification to every project. For Florida homeowners who expect exceptional sound quality, dependable performance, and professional support, that expertise makes a difference.
7 Reasons to Choose Definitive Electronics for Sonos
1. Professional Audio System Design
The right Sonos system starts with selecting the appropriate speakers for each room. Definitive Electronics evaluates room dimensions, acoustics, listening preferences, speaker placement, and coverage to design a system suited to your home.
2. Whole-Home Audio Integration
Enjoy synchronized music throughout your home or play different music in individual rooms. Definitive Electronics designs and configures Sonos systems for multiple listening zones, including living spaces, bedrooms, kitchens, patios, and poolside entertainment areas.
3. Reliable Home Network Performance
Sonos depends on a properly configured home network. Definitive Electronics evaluates Wi-Fi coverage, network capacity, wired connectivity options, and equipment placement to help prevent speaker dropouts, connectivity issues, and unreliable playback.
4. Professional Home Theater Setup
Sonos soundbars, subwoofers, and surround speakers require proper configuration to perform at their best. Definitive Electronics handles TV connections, HDMI eARC settings, speaker placement, surround sound configuration, and supported audio calibration features.
5. Integration With Your Smart Home
Sonos can work alongside compatible smart home control systems, including Control4, Crestron, and Savant. Definitive Electronics evaluates compatibility and configures supported integrations to simplify how you control music throughout your home.
6. Architectural and Outdoor Audio Solutions
Sonos offers more than standalone wireless speakers. Definitive Electronics can design systems incorporating Sonos architectural speakers and compatible amplification for discreet in-ceiling, in-wall, and outdoor installations. For Florida properties, equipment selection and placement also account for humidity, weather exposure, and coastal conditions.
7. Professional Service and Long-Term Support
Buying Sonos speakers at retail generally leaves installation, troubleshooting, and future expansion to the homeowner. Definitive Electronics takes ownership of the installation process, from initial design and configuration through testing, homeowner orientation, and ongoing service. As your needs change, the team can help expand or upgrade your system.
The Difference Is in the Design, Integration, and Service.
Sonos makes high-quality audio technology accessible. Definitive Electronics makes it part of a thoughtfully designed home entertainment experience, with professional installation, reliable connectivity, intuitive control, and a team you can call when you need assistance.

Yes. Sonos offers components that integrate with existing audio equipment, letting many homeowners keep their current speakers and amplifiers while adding Sonos streaming and multiroom capabilities.
Two products are particularly useful for these installations:
Sonos Amp powers compatible passive speakers, including existing in-wall, in-ceiling, and traditional bookshelf speakers. It combines amplification with Sonos streaming and zone control.
Sonos Port connects to an existing amplifier or stereo receiver through compatible analog or digital audio connections. This allows homeowners to access Sonos streaming services without replacing their current amplification equipment.
For homes with established distributed audio systems, the best solution depends on existing speaker wiring, impedance, amplifier configurations, and the number of independent listening zones.
Definitive Electronics can evaluate your current equipment, identify what you can keep, and recommend an upgrade that incorporates Sonos without unnecessarily replacing functional components.
Sonos is a network-based audio system. Most Sonos products connect through Wi-Fi, while many also support wired Ethernet connections. A reliable home network is essential for consistent performance, particularly in larger homes with multiple listening zones.
It’s important to distinguish between your home network and your internet connection.
Your home network allows compatible Sonos components to communicate with each other. Your internet connection provides access to online music services, software updates, and cloud-dependent features.
If your internet service goes down but your local network remains operational, certain functions may continue working. For example, a compatible Sonos soundbar or Amp may continue playing audio from a connected television. Some local audio sources may also remain available, depending on the equipment and configuration.
However, internet-based music streaming, voice services, and other cloud-dependent features will generally be unavailable. Some app functions may also be limited.
For larger Florida residences, Definitive Electronics evaluates wireless coverage, Ethernet connectivity, network equipment, and system configuration to help minimize interruptions and ensure dependable Sonos operation.
Yes. Sonos allows homeowners to enjoy music throughout indoor and outdoor living spaces, with the flexibility to play the same music everywhere or different music in individual areas.
A professionally designed system can include in-ceiling speakers in kitchens and living rooms, discreet speakers in bedrooms, and weather-resistant outdoor speakers around patios, pools, and entertainment areas.
Each configured Sonos room or zone can have independent volume control. Compatible zones can also be grouped for synchronized playback, making it easy to extend music from the living room to the outdoor kitchen when entertaining guests.
Outdoor systems require special consideration. Speaker placement, amplifier selection, wiring, and acoustic coverage all affect how evenly music is distributed across open spaces. In Florida, weather exposure and coastal conditions must also be considered.
Definitive Electronics designs integrated indoor and outdoor Sonos systems that provide convenient control, appropriate speaker coverage, and dependable performance throughout your property.
Neither is automatically better. Sonos Architectural speakers and standalone wireless speakers serve different purposes.
Sonos Architectural by Sonance includes in-wall, in-ceiling, and outdoor speaker options designed for permanent installation. These passive speakers require compatible amplification and can be incorporated into discreet audio systems with minimal visual impact.
When paired with compatible Sonos amplification, supported Sonos Architectural speakers can also benefit from specialized digital signal processing designed for their acoustic characteristics.
Standalone wireless Sonos speakers contain built-in amplification and connect to a compatible home network. They are convenient for rooms where installing speaker wiring is impractical or where homeowners want greater flexibility in speaker placement.
For luxury homes, architectural speakers are often preferable in primary living areas, kitchens, bedrooms, and other spaces where visible equipment would interfere with interior design.
Standalone speakers can be excellent choices for secondary rooms, offices, or locations where permanent installation is unnecessary.
Definitive Electronics can design a system using both approaches, selecting the appropriate equipment for each room while maintaining a consistent Sonos listening experience.
Yes. Sonos can support sophisticated whole-home audio installations, including large residences with numerous listening areas, architectural speakers, and centralized equipment.
Homeowners can group compatible Sonos rooms to play synchronized music or select different music for individual zones. Volume can also be adjusted independently.
For larger installations, Sonos Amp Multi provides eight amplified outputs, each rated at 125 watts into 8 ohms, with flexible assignment across up to four independently controlled zones. Multiple units can be incorporated into larger distributed audio systems.
Important considerations include:
- Speaker placement and coverage for each room
- Appropriate amplification and speaker loads
- Reliable network connectivity
- Equipment rack design and ventilation
- Convenient control of individual zones
- Future expansion requirements
Definitive Electronics designs Sonos systems for luxury Florida residences, including multi-story homes, waterfront estates, and properties with extensive indoor and outdoor entertainment spaces.
Yes. Sonos can be integrated with compatible Control4, Crestron, and Savant systems, allowing homeowners to access supported Sonos functions through their home automation interfaces.
Depending on the control platform, available integration, and Sonos products, supported features may include music selection, playback controls, volume adjustments, and access to configured audio zones.
For example, a homeowner may be able to select music and adjust the volume using a wall-mounted touchscreen or smart home control interface rather than opening the Sonos app separately.
Integration capabilities vary by platform, driver, software version, and streaming service. Not every Sonos app feature is necessarily available through a third-party control system.
As an experienced custom integrator working with Control4, Crestron, Savant, and Sonos, Definitive Electronics can evaluate compatibility, configure supported functions, and incorporate Sonos into a broader home automation system.
Both options can deliver excellent TV audio, but the right choice depends on your room, listening preferences, and architectural requirements.
Sonos soundbars, such as the Arc Ultra, combine multiple speaker drivers and audio processing technologies in a single enclosure. They offer a streamlined solution for improving dialogue clarity, music, and movie soundtracks without installing speakers inside the walls. Compatible Sonos subwoofers and surround speakers can expand the system.
In-wall speakers offer a more discreet appearance and greater flexibility in speaker placement. When paired with a Sonos Amp, a properly designed front stereo speaker system can provide excellent TV audio, including a phantom center channel for dialogue. However, a Sonos Amp-based TV system isn’t equivalent to a dedicated multichannel home theater processor with separate center, surround, and height channels.
For homeowners interested in Dolby Atmos, compatible Sonos soundbars may be the better option within the Sonos ecosystem. For those prioritizing architectural concealment and traditional stereo separation, in-wall speakers may be preferable.
Definitive Electronics evaluates TV placement, seating positions, room acoustics, architectural considerations, and entertainment preferences before recommending the appropriate system.
Yes. Outdoor Speakers by Sonos and Sonance are engineered for year-round outdoor use and can withstand Florida’s heat, humidity, heavy rain, and coastal conditions.
These speakers carry an IP66 rating, providing dust-tight protection and resistance to powerful water jets. They’re also tested for salt spray, UV exposure, humidity, and extreme temperatures. This makes them suitable for covered patios, pool decks, outdoor kitchens, and other residential outdoor entertainment areas.
However, weather-resistant does not mean maintenance-free or suitable for submersion. In coastal areas, proper placement, corrosion-resistant mounting hardware, protected wiring connections, and periodic inspection are especially important.
Sonos outdoor architectural speakers are passive and require compatible amplification, typically installed in a protected indoor location.
Definitive Electronics designs outdoor Sonos audio systems around each property’s architecture, listening areas, and environmental conditions. Homeowners can enjoy music outdoors while maintaining convenient control alongside their indoor Sonos speakers.
The Sonos Amp and Amp Multi are designed to power passive speakers, but they serve different installation needs.
The Sonos Amp is a two-channel amplifier rated at 125 watts per channel into 8 ohms. It’s well suited for a stereo pair of architectural speakers, a single listening zone, or a TV audio system using its HDMI ARC connection. Multiple Sonos Amps can be combined to create a multiroom audio system.
The Sonos Amp Multi is designed for larger, professionally installed audio systems that require multiple independently controlled zones. Its multichannel architecture consolidates amplification and zone management into equipment intended for centralized installations.
The right choice depends on the number of rooms, speaker requirements, available equipment space, and how homeowners want to control their music.
Definitive Electronics evaluates these requirements and designs Sonos systems that provide appropriate amplification, independent zone control, and room-to-room audio integration.
