Senior Lead AV Technician – AV Integration
Location: Jupiter, Florida
Reports to: Project Manager
About the Role
Definitive Electronics (DE 2.0) is seeking an experienced Senior Lead AV Technician to join our team. This is a senior-level, hands-on leadership position responsible for overseeing the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of advanced AV (Audio-Visual) systems—including audio, video, access control, security, automated shades, lighting solutions, and integrated networking/IT systems. You will lead project teams, ensure the highest standards of quality and safety, and serve as a technical mentor for junior staff. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in AV integration, networking, and a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise AV installation teams on residential and commercial projects
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and service of AV systems: audio, video, access control, security cameras, automated shades, lighting control, and networking/IT infrastructure
- Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain network and IT systems, including switches, routers, wireless access points, and related hardware
- Ensure all work meets company standards, project specifications, and safety requirements
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients and project stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex AV, control, network, and IT system issues
- Commission and test integrated systems, ensuring optimal performance and client satisfaction
- Train and mentor junior technicians and provide on-site instruction to clients
- Interpret and review wiring diagrams, schematics, and blueprints for integrated AV and IT solutions
- Operate and instruct on the use of test equipment (multimeters, signal generators, test monitors, network certifiers).
- Maintain accurate documentation, service logs, and inventory records
- Participate in scheduled on-call duties for urgent support needs\
- Ensure compliance with all company, client, and community safety programs
- Research and pursue advanced training and certifications
- Perform other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications
- Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in AV systems installation, integration, and networking/IT configuration
- Demonstrated leadership experience in AV project management or team supervision
- Two-year electronics degree or equivalent combination of education and field experience
- Extensive experience with AV systems (audio, video, access control, security, automated shades, lighting) and networking/IT systems
- Working knowledge of integrated communications, automation, and IT/networking systems
- Clean driving record and valid, current driver’s license
- Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing drug tests
- Ability to pass background checks for safe communities and secure job sites

Preferred Experience and Certifications:
- Axis Communications (network video and security solutions)
- 2N (IP intercoms and access control)
- Ruckus, Netgear, Ubiquiti (networking and wireless solutions)
